LEO Name Card is a client-based project between LEO President Marcus and myself. I was approached by LEO Marcus to design their committee’s name card for the fiscal year of 2018-2019. So, LEO Marcus and I picked a day to brainstorm together on the project. I had to make myself understand more about the club, so I interviewed LEO Marcus to learn more about the club. This is my findings:

What is this club about?

- Charity based club

-Focus on raising funds

- Collaborates with other LEO clubs from other universities/colleges/high schools

Activities done:

- Charity bazaar

- Visit old folks home

- Tree planting

- Visit animal shelter

- Hope bazaar

- Visit children’s home

- Organise members gathering

- Halloween night

- LEO camping weekends

- Metro joint installation

Discussion on the name card project:

- Name card design for each committee members

- To represent the essence of LEO club

- To show sneak peaks of what LEO club is about to other students/staff/the public

- To have an identity of its own via a name card

Positions:

- President

- Vice President

- Secretary

- Treasurer

- Membership

- Community Service

- Health & Environment

After much discussion, LEO Marcus and I started to discuss on doodling styles for the name card. Take a look below:

While sketching, I also started to draft out the positioning of the doodles on the name card. I came out with 2 different options at first, and LEO Marcus told me to try and do both versions. In-mid of doing the first option, LEO Marcus decided to immediately go with the second option, so I scrapped out the first one.

After finally figuring out the outlook of the name card design, I started to doodle my first draft of the design. I decided to draw the doodles in the LEO’s lion logo.

Once I drew it out, I than transferred it to digital to start designing the name card. This is how the final outcome looks like:

Each card has a different style of doodling to form the logo of LEO Club’s lion. To have a clearer view, take a look at my presentation board:
